Both executive and legislative branch employees are eligible.
Additionally, all members of the military are eligible-- including active, reserve, retired and veterans.
Current
federal employees must be a federal employee both at the time of
application and at the time of performance. Sorry, federal contractors,
political appointees and consultants are not eligible.
All applicants are required to submit an application here and may be required to participate in a live audition or asked to submit a tape.
Participating comics do not
have to have standup experience, but have to be able to perform at
least 5 minutes of original, clean (pg-13) comedy in front of a live
audience.
All participants must agree that:
1.
No official government time will be used relative to this contest,
including but not limited to: time for filling out the application,
writing the standup material, or promoting the contest. Applicants must
use only personal, non-official time to complete these tasks.
2.
Any comments made in the contest do not reflect or represent the
interests of the U.S. Government agency in which the participant is
employed.
3. No solicitation of the designated charity associated with this contest will occur at the workplace.
In addition:
All comedy used in this competition must be the original creation of the participant (ie not borrowed or taken from any other source)
All comedy must be in good taste (i.e. it does not degrade the U.S. Agency of employment or public service in general).
The Producer retains all rights to deny participation for any reason.
